Role: art director, illustrator.
Problem: The Bay Area lightning and grip company Rebel Sun needed to step up their marketing professionalism and define its brand.
Solution: Creating a more coherent look and feel to cover all outlets: web, mobile, print collateral and work garments.
Result: While Rebel Sun were already doing very well and had a high ranking online, they enjoyed a boost in business shortly after the new site and ID was published.
The logo first got re-design with a proprietary font but had a lot of extra detail that muddied up the legibility and the general impression. We stripped down and simplified it for better legibility and a more modern look. We decided to keep the old "Rebel Sun orange" color, as well as the original sun that was decided along with the first logo. Sometimes it's good to keep a pinkie back to the original look that a many customers might be familiar with.
They wanted to perk up their gear lists by having hand drawn illustrations replacing regular photographs, so I created a slew of those.
The website and mobile presence got a major face lift that made services easy to access.
Letterheads, business cards and promotional t-shirts got the same treatment.
